▎精油簡介

丁香花苞Eugenia caryophyllus,原產於印尼摩鹿加群島,現在馬達加斯加、菲律賓及其他氣候相近的地方都有生長,屬於熱帶植物。作為原料的花蕾被稱為Clou,由於形狀似針,在中國又稱為「丁子香」。在香料當中,香味強烈的丁香,市面上有丁香粉與整朵花蕾乾燥的丁香粒。加入少量魚料理中,可增加風味和滋味層次。

丁香樹金字塔樹形綴著艷紅的花苞,成為島上絕美植物之一。乾燥後的花苞散發辛竄的香氣,吸附力強大,因此公元前200年,西漢已有典籍紀載,大臣上朝前有嚼食丁香的習慣,為了與皇帝交談時呼氣芳香。丁香花苞精油是由丁香樹上乾枯未展開的花苞萃取而得,而其他葉子及莖部萃取的精油,因含大量丁香酚,對皮膚粘膜有強烈刺激性,不適合用於芳香療法中。
