▎精油簡介

癒創木英文名稱源自拉丁文Lignum Vitae,直接翻譯就是「生命之樹」或「生命之木」,許多古書稱為健康樹或健康香脂,其生長​​於南美,阿根廷最多,格蘭夏哥省(Gran Chaco)與裡約伯加摩(Rio Berjamo),巴拉圭次之,也生長於加勒比海區,是巴哈馬的國樹,花朵則是牙買加的國花。

它可以長到高達6米左右,有許多彎曲的樹枝,呈圓拱形,花朵為藍色,會結出一串串五到十朵的腋生花束,果實是肉質、呈橘色,有非常堅實質密的樹皮,因此不會腐爛,大多數芳香療法所使用的就是這個部位。癒創樹心材並經蒸氣蒸餾製成精油,其中主要的有效成分是癒創木酚。

癒創樹其天然植物膠可以用來作為食品添加劑,香水定香劑。近幾年興起大名鼎鼎的藥用成分癒創酚成分其實是來自於這類樹種的樹脂內,這個成分也能在烘培的咖啡豆中找得到,更是許多熏制食品的前趨物,但原生植物體有如此豐富的癒創酚, 但卻在癒創木精油中僅珍貴的少量。

主要成分為癒創木醇、癒創木酚、α-癒創甘油醚、β-廣藿香烯、癒創木氧化物。
