▎精油簡介
廣藿香名稱源自於坦米爾語,patchi表示「綠」,ilai則是「葉」,具有剛性的莖,草長約1公尺左右,並產生小而淺的粉紅色花朵。該植物原產於東南亞的熱帶地區,主要用在驅蟲的效用,後來當廣藿香傳至歐洲地區後,開始被運用於香水及紡織工業,現在在中國,印度,馬來西亞,印度尼西亞,菲律賓,台灣,泰國和越南已廣泛種植。
廣藿香精油的過程就像製作葡萄酒一般,先將葉子乾燥發酵後再進行蒸餾,經輕微發酵或乾燥葉子破碎,所以香氣會隨著時間變得更加濃鬱芳香,而且愈陳愈香。這樣的香氣特質,因為揮發的速度慢,所以成為製作香水時不可或缺的定香元素。廣藿香葉可以每年收穫幾次,當它們乾燥時,可以出口蒸餾。

主要成分為廣藿香醇(patehouli alcohol),和α及ß -布藜烯(ß-bulnesene),還有一些微量成分,如:癒創木烯、西車烯、綠花白千層等。
